Meet Our President/CEO

Amy D. Hollingshead, Ph.D.


Amy Hollingshead values people. Whether working in business, ministry, or the community, her life exemplifies a life-long passion of caring through counseling, mentoring, and coaching in a variety of settings for the past 26 years. She joined the Thrifty Nickel organization in 1988 as Sales Manager. Amy’s ability to create, manage and protect the vision and values of the organization was tested on a critical level when she became Atlanta Thrifty Nickel’s President in September 2008. The organization was in tremendous crisis and debt. Since that time, Amy has designed and implemented strategic solutions bringing to the company sustainability, 100% debt retirement, growth and profitability. In 2010-2013, the Atlanta paper was # 1 in the Southeastern Division. Additional experience includes design and implementation of curriculum for the Institute for Professional Development, working as an Adjunct Instructor for the Shorter University School of Business, Director of Education for Feed My Lambs, Inc.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, September 27, Amy graduated from the University of Georgia in 1987 with a degree in Advertising and a minor in Psychology. She earned her Masters of Arts in Counseling from Liberty University and her Ph.D. in Leadership and Management from Logos University. She is a Board Certified Christian Therapist and Certified Chaplain. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, the Georgia Association of Christian Counselors, American Chaplains Association, UGA and Liberty Alumni groups, the Cobb Chamber CEO group and serves on the Southeastern Advertising Publishers Association Board of Directors. Amy and her husband, Tim, have been married for 28 years and have four wonderful daughters. Amy enjoys being outdoors, laughing with her kids, hiking, entertaining and UGA football.
